Course Fees: What's Included?
Oxford’s fee structure is designed to be transparent and accessible. It’s important to note that these fees do not include residential or other living costs, such as food and accommodation.
Historically, university and college fees were published separately. However, since the academic year 2019/20, course fees for matriculated students are presented as a single, comprehensive figure to ensure clarity. This unified fee is divided between the University (including its department or faculty) and your chosen college based on a pre-defined formula. Fees for Home Students: 2025 Entry
For Home students undertaking their first undergraduate degree, the University’s policy for 2025 is to charge fees at the government-set cap, which is £9,535.
Home undergraduate and PGCE students are eligible to access a tuition fee loan from the UK government, which can cover their entire course fee. This means students typically do not need to pay any fees upfront. Information regarding annual fee increases is available through the University’s guidance on likely increases to fees and charges. Special Considerations for Home Students
If you are a Home student who has previously completed an undergraduate program, you will be classified as an Equivalent or Lower Qualification (ELQ) student. In this case, your course fee for 2025 will remain the standard Home rate, but you will not be eligible for financial support from Oxford or the UK government. If your previous course was not completed, funding for your studies at Oxford might be affected.
Fees for Overseas Students
Students not classified as ‘Home’ students are categorized as ‘Overseas’ students. It’s crucial for Overseas students to understand that they are not eligible for tuition fee loans from the UK government. The course fees for Overseas students are significantly higher and vary depending on the specific program of study. Information for EU, EEA, and Swiss Applicants
New regulations and guidance published by the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) on May 11, 2021, will be used to assess the fee status of students commencing courses in August 2021 and later, including those from the EU, EEA, and Switzerland. If you are an EU national residing outside the UK, you will likely be charged Overseas fees. However, students with settled and pre-settled status in the UK, along with certain other categories of students working in the UK, may qualify for Home fee status if they meet the residency criteria.

Fees for Students with a Year Abroad
For Home students undertaking a compulsory year abroad as part of their degree, a year abroad course fee of 15% of the full course fee for that year will apply. For Medical Students Information
Home students enrolled in the six-year medicine course will have different fee arrangements during years five and six, as their course fees will be covered by the NHS. Overseas medical students should be aware that clinical year course fees will be substantially higher.
